What a fantastic day at our Democracy Sausage BBQ!
We sold out of all our packs of snags – an incredible effort – and our cake stall was an absolute hit, filled with the most delicious homemade treats.
A very special thank you to Susan and Kevern for once again initiating and driving the cake stall. Your dedication and energy make such a difference every year. We are also grateful to everyone who baked and donated cakes, biscuits, scones and more - your generosity and talent were on full display.
And to all our members and friends who came along to help on the day, thank you. These events simply would not be possible without your support and community spirit.
Days like today are what Rotary is all about – connection, teamwork, and making a difference together.
Last week we heard from Casey DeBono from Australian Red Cross Lifeblood. With 12 years of experience, Casey shared how the Lifeblood team works tirelessly to educate and inspire local communities, ensuring a constant and reliable blood supply for those in need.
Some powerful statistics really made us stop and think - only 1 in 30 Australians donate blood, yet 1 in 3 will need it in their lifetime. Every single donation has the power to save lives.
Casey also helped dispel some common myths around donating:
- Many medications don’t prevent you from donating
- Travel or living overseas doesn’t necessarily rule you out
- Even with tattoos, you can donate plasma as soon as the next day
Whether you choose to donate blood or plasma, you are making a real difference.
We have received preliminary plans for the upgrade to Midcourse Reserve that is half funded by RCWL to mark the 50th year since Charter!

The speaker system operates on both battery or power.
Prior to meeting, plug in the charger with the connection point being in front of the speaker box. Once fully charged (blue light), the charger can be removed (or left in place).
NOTE: Ensure that Power is plugged in to the actual Power inlet on the speaker and not the Microphone inlet
Three microphones are all battery operated. There are ‘some’ spare batteries in our lectern. Microphones operate on a simple On/Off and are already paired to the system.
The speaker box has a Master Volume knob as well as a Microphone Volume knob. These should not need adjustment unless circumstances have changed. Test inside meeting room.
At end of meeting please carefully check all items, and put safely back in lectern.
Liaise with the Guest Speaker Coordinator to meet and greet Guest Speaker, arrange for introduction, introduce to other members
- Arrange meal for Guest speaker, cost to the RCWL account (so that Steve can pay later on)
