The Container of donated items was due in Manila on 17th, but must have caught a tail wind - new arrival date 13 October.
Robin and Louie have booked flights to Manila 27-08 Nov to meet with local Rotarians and document the distribution of our donated goods to the Orphanage and several schools.

Dr Ben sparked a generous community to help change lives, just like you, too.
Volunteer surgeon Dr Ben Norris felt the urgent need to return to Samoa to help more children and adults get life-changing surgeries. He set out to raise $30,000, but thanks to the generosity of his community and supporters like you, he exceeded his goal, making an even greater impact than he imagined.
We’re very lucky to have Past RI Director Brad Howard as our special guest. He will be talking about the ‘Unintended consequences of polio eradication’.
This webinar is open to all and is also a terrific introduction for new members and clubs to learn more about the boldest public health initiative of our time, started by Rotary.
Brad is a charter member of the Rotary Club of Oakland Uptown and past District Governor of the district serving California’s Silicon Valley.
He was a Rotary International Director from 2015-2017 and served 10 years as Zone End Polio Now Coordinator.
He has led 34 groups of Rotarians, comprised of more than 1,700 people, to participate in Polio National Immunization Days in West Africa and India.
He is a recipient of the Rotary’s Service Above Self Award, the Rotary Foundation’s Distinguished Service Award, and the International Service Award for a Polio Free World awarded to no more than 10 individuals annually.
Registrations have been live for a week and we’ve already attracted great interest in our inaugural zone webinar series - Inside the fight: Stories from the frontlines of polio eradication - Saturday 4 October.
We have been advised that Beyond Bank will not continue with sponsorship of Christmas Fun for Kids. Their logo has now been removed from RCWL social media.
So the Committee is now looking for a new sponsor.
Please invite others to our Sponsorship meeting on Tuesday 21 October - Dimi from Golden North will be speaking.
The speaker system operates on both battery or power.
Prior to meeting, plug in the charger with the connection point being in front of the speaker box. Once fully charged (blue light), the charger can be removed (or left in place).
NOTE: Ensure that Power is plugged in to the actual Power inlet on the speaker and not the Microphone inlet
Three microphones are all battery operated. There are ‘some’ spare batteries in our lectern. Microphones operate on a simple On/Off and are already paired to the system.
The speaker box has a Master Volume knob as well as a Microphone Volume knob. These should not need adjustment unless circumstances have changed. Test inside meeting room.
At end of meeting please carefully check all items, and put safely back in lectern.
Liaise with the Guest Speaker Coordinator to meet and greet Guest Speaker, arrange for introduction, introduce to other members
- Arrange meal for Guest speaker, cost to the RCWL account (so that Steve can pay later on)
