Members may be aware that the Club will be losing access to the storage room in the Wesley Social Enterprises shed at the end of this year. Rotarian Brian MacDonald contacted Rotarian Stuart Ghent, who is also a Councillor with the City of Charles Sturt (CoCS). Stuart made contact with the City and we received an almost immediate response. On Monday afternoon Ros, Steve and Andrew met with a CoCS representative at the Samoa Reserve to inspect a potential location. This particular storage space is currently used by RC Henley Beach and was previously shared with RC West Beach (aka Kidman Park). We have since been in touch with RC Henley Beach to understand their use of the space. At present there is plenty of room for our BBQ trailer, and also our racking system. Work will be required to tidy up to fit the rest of our stuff. Andrew has one set of keys and we have asked CoCS for another 2 sets. We have access to the space now and at our convenience! Whilst Samoa Reserve is a little out of the way, it is a great alternative to our current, soon to expire, arrangements. As far as we are aware, it is cost free.... Just have to sort out a working bee to move everything, and maybe celebrate with a BBQ at the Reserve?
