Rotary Club of Famagusta – Cavo Greco in D2452. The club was chartered in 1992 with 10 members who meet Wednesdays at 7pm in Capo Bay Hotel Protaras.  President is Louis Papageorgiou

  • Club runner costs increasing. Was agreed to trial for 2 years.  Discussing with District to support funds coming out of Admin budget.

  • DIK – 15 April – car pooling Ken taking Lyn and Yvonne
  • Email will be sent to all members for Working with Vulnerable People which needs to be renewed every 3 years. 
  • Ken in process of working with new members to be registered with Working with Children

  • Team building day at DeGaris’ to make bee hotels for schools and Early Childhood. Alison to find out who has Alexander Kitchen Gardens.
  • Looking for a wood branding unit to write on the B Hotels.
  • Monarto Zoo confirmed more fence posts requiring painting.

Please be advised that guest Jane English is being proposed for membership of our Club.

If you would like to make any comments regarding Jane's membership application, then please address to President Jean.
 
Jane was a member of the Adelaide Rotaract Club in the 1970's, so she has a basic understanding of what Rotary is about.
She lives locally and has already participated in a number of volunteering activities, including Semaphore Carousel, NRM Bill's birthday BBQ and NRM Bub's birthday Cafe Car

Gourmet Gary’s Boxty (potato pancakes)
Blowfly Corner
 
Serves: 6
Prep Time: 45 min 
Cook Time: 60 min 
 
Ingredients

400gms

Mashed potatoes

400gms

Grated raw potatoes

400gms

Plain flour

2 tbsp

Finely chopped chives

3/4 cup

milk

 

Salt and Pepper to taste

1 egg

Lightly beaten

Directions:

1. Mix the raw potato and mashed potato together in a bowl then stir in the flour and chives. 

2. Stir in the egg and enough of the milk to form a batter that will just run. 

3. Cook in a hot, lightly oiled pan for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned. 

4. Serve with mild lamb curry on one side with the other side folded over, garnishing the plate with a little salad.
