You may recall a talk some time ago about removal of playgrounds in Council areas.
Australian Standards dictate that playgrounds have to be removed after 20yrs. Councils will remove earlier if: unsafe; don't fit with community expectations; don't fit with future planning.
RC Mount Barker initially kicked off the project, and have since handed on.
It is sort of managed through the District, and also RC Onkaparinga are assisting.
Rotary are paid by the Council to remove, and this assists in managing the project and overseas transport.
We have been made aware that there are 4 playgrounds in the City of Charles Sturt that require removal in the near future.

Our Club has been approached for assistance.
There are documented instructions of what work is required at each site.
- RC Onkaparinga may be able to assist.
- Need a few members to help (potential multi-Club team).
- 1 week prior to the removal there is a visit to do joint spraying and marking up
- Removal to RARE needs a large trailer/utility with pipe racks (possibly organised by RC Onkaparinga).
Details
- 4 playgrounds on 3 sites
- Currently coding & associated paperwork for the Council. Dates are just ahead of the Council start date for removal (they will take the poles out after everything else disassembled).
- Slightly earlier is possible, but Council likes to keep operational for as long as they can
Please let Andrew know if you are interested.
