Whilst in Florence (Firenze) Ros & Andrew picked out the closest Club to where they were staying. RC Certosa were only a 20 minute walk from the centre of the old city.
Harry's Bar seemed to be "international enough", however only a few of the Members could converse in English!
They actually missed the booking date, but were allowed at late notice to attend.

Not a cheap night, €55 each, however this included drinks, a 3 course meal, and the star event - Opera!
The Club's guests were the from the Academy of Music, May Fiorentino - the Director, two singers and a pianist!
A glass of Prosecco on entry enabled conversations with those who they could understand.

There was little Club business, with the majority of the evening dedicated to the Opera singers, there were two pieces, each with 3 arias.

Ros and Andrew were invited to sit at a table where the members had good English skills, this made the evening far more palatable.
In addition to the opera, one of the Club Members was presented with a Rotary award - not quite sure what!

It was a long evening, not finishing until 2300, and then a walk back through the winding streets.
