Tuesday 28th is an important PARTNERS' NIGHT – TAFE Gerard Ancone award presentation. Please make an effort to attend this important ongoing event.
The RC in the Philippines have made a detailed proposal to the Board on how they intend to progress with a minimal financial backlash. The proposal is taken as ‘the best option’ given the circumstances.
Reminder, Sunday 3rd May is the Pioneer Adventure Day. Have you committed to attend this event? See Event Folder and advise at Tuesday's meeting. Car Pooling is an option.

Paid donation $500 to Calperum
Paid donation $1000 to CFS Foundation
ANZAC BBQ gross sales $1434 – costs received to date $346 plus onion costs to come. Should be reimbursed by the RSL. Assuming we get costs recovered, suggest $750 (or $1000) donation each to Legacy & CHATs – will put to member vote.
$40k term deposit has just matured – suggest that $15k be transferred to the Community Account in readiness for the Mid Course Reserve upgrade “50 Year” recognition – the uncertainty is the timing when we need the cash.
COMMUNITY & FUNDRAISING- Sue (Ros away 12 April - 13 May)
Carousel Duties on Sunday 26 April. We were fortunate that Henley Beach RC covered Sunday at the Carousel. We were not aware of this until Yvonne turned up for the 11.00am shift.
Next Carousel weekend - Saturday 2 May is being covered by the Latter Day Saints volunteers. Sunday 3 May has Susan Kendle and Sue Lockwood covering the duties. If you can help, please add availability in the Events Folder.
Next Bunnings BBQ is Monday 4 May - we still need help! The pack up crew has only 2 people, there are only 3 volunteers for the morning shift and we need 4. Please confirm your availability in the Events Folder and let Sue know.

Last week's International Toast - Peter
The Rotary Club of Cankaya (District 2430, Turkey) was chartered in 1964 and currently has 22 members. The club meets every Thursday at 12 noon at the Buyukhani Park Hotel. The current president is Ismail Uker Turkguler.
Last week Andrew and Ros met up with Samuele's family (see photo). Message from Andrew (Sunday 26 April): Only a week to go in Morocco. Today we leave the High Atlas Mountains heading toward Marrakech. We left the Western Sahara 3 days ago, but all still very barren. Oases are the hubs of life, but still mainly subsistence farming. Our group of 4 Kiwis, 1 Swiss and 5 Aussies are getting on well.
As World Immunization Week begins, we celebrate the power of vaccines to protect children, prevent disease, and keep communities healthy. This week, 24 to 30 April, is also a time to recognize the dedicated people who make immunization possible.
Rotary supports programs that equip community health workers to deliver vaccines and connect communities to care. In Pakistan, thousands of these essential workers travel long distances to vaccinate children and support environmental surveillance efforts, reaching even the most remote and vulnerable people.
These efforts have achieved remarkable progress. Since 1988, Rotary and our partners in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative have reduced polio cases worldwide by more than 99.9%. Our members support vaccination programs that protect against polio, measles, and other life-threatening diseases. Immunization remains one of the most effective tools to protect children and keep communities healthy.
During World Immunization Week, you can help sustain these efforts by:

Exploringother ways to raise funds for the PolioPlus Fund
Together, we can support the people who are delivering vaccines, strengthening communities, and moving us all closer to a world free of polio and other preventable diseases.

The speaker system operates on both battery or power.
Prior to meeting, plug in the charger with the connection point being in front of the speaker box. Once fully charged (blue light), the charger can be removed (or left in place).
NOTE: Ensure that Power is plugged in to the actual Power inlet on the speaker and not the Microphone inlet
Three microphones are all battery operated. There are ‘some’ spare batteries in our lectern. Microphones operate on a simple On/Off and are already paired to the system.
The speaker box has a Master Volume knob as well as a Microphone Volume knob. These should not need adjustment unless circumstances have changed. Test inside meeting room.
At end of meeting please carefully check all items, and put safely back in lectern.
Liaise with the Guest Speaker Coordinator to meet and greet Guest Speaker, arrange for introduction, introduce to other members.
