Treasurer Steve celebrated his 70th birthday on Sunday. Congratulations to Steve on this wonderful milestone! We thank him for the valuable work he does managing the Club’s finances.
Andrew and Ros departed for Italy on Sunday, beginning a five-week European holiday. We look forward to seeing photos and hearing all about their travels.
Alison leaves for Cambodia on Tuesday, where she will be involved in the 'Cows for Cambodia' project alongside Cosi Costello and more than 20 other volunteers. We wish her well and look forward to hearing all about her tour on her return.

All donations to the supporters and entertainers of the CFFK event are now paid
Annual Insurance questionnaire completed and submitted
Donations as budgeted and previously agreed upon have been paid: Foodbank $500, OzHarvest $500, Ronald McDonald House $1000, RARE $500. Rotary Pioneer Adventure Day for farmers and families - $500 - was not budgeted but there was a positive member vote at last weeks' meeting.
Proposed donations, agreed to by Board, not specifically budgeted, for Club member vote:
Calperum $500 – based on the fact that we were in discussion re a Club visit, overtaken by the Pioneer Adventure Day

The Philippines Container Update
Due to unforeseen delays, demurrage charges are beyond budget. An action plan to surrender the container and purchase at Auction have been detailed and is the only logical step. An interest free loan is still available to facilitate this but with clear direction that RCWL will not exceed its budget for this project. The Board has agreed on this decision, there being no other realistic alternative action plan.
Feedback on international charities to support
We have a donation for an International youth program which we could potentially match dollar for dollar up to $2000. Scott has a list of potential existing projects that can be added to.

RCWL Cloud storage licence has been renewed with many benefits for the Club.
The President has received a request from the District Governor seeking club support for a Bridge Fundraiser on Sunday 31 May. This event will support the Rotary Foundation’s End Polio Now campaign and will include both a competitive bridge session and a beginner-friendly mini bridge option suitable for all ages. Members are encouraged to support the initiative by attending, promoting the event, making donations or assisting with sponsorships and raffle/auction items. With polio eradication in its final stages, this fundraiser is a valuable opportunity to make a real impact - especially as all donations are currently matched 2:1, tripling the support for this vital global cause. If you are not going to the District Assembly, you might want to be involved in this.

Fed Govt Grant
EOI submitted on 1 April for $1,125 to purchase an electric jockey wheel for BBQ trailer to hopefully remove EHS challenges. We may need to purchase an interim jockey wheel as current one is compromised.

Club member, Alison visited Ronald McDonald House to deliver an incredible 51 handmade blankets for sick children and their families. What a heartfelt contribution that will bring comfort to so many!
Jade Russell from RMH was very appreciative of the support, and it was lovely to have Jade, Bet (Alison’s mum’s neighbour who has rediscovered her love of crocheting for this special cause), Iris and Alison all there to share the moment. Such a wonderful effort by everyone involved
Alison, Jean, Ros & Andrew attended the Multi District Summit for Districts 9800, 9780 and 9510 in Horsham this past weekend.
Cocktails on Friday night were the meet 'n' greet opportunity. The Heritage Hall in the Horsham Town Hall was the hosting spot for the Showcase.
A departure from past Conferences/Summits was the change of the Foundation Breakfast from the Sunday to the Saturday morning. Horsham provided us with a cold, crisp morning, and there wasn't any heating in the Stables at the Showgrounds. Brekky was served in the Chook Shed!
The keynote speakers - Masaya EnDo (Rotary Japan) and International Past President Jennifer Jones provided the ~110 or so with compelling reasons to support the Rotary Foundation.
Then it was a quick 1.5km walk for End Polio to the Horsham Town Hall. Ros and Andrew were privileged to walk with Jennifer Jones (grand Poobah) and her husband Nick.
Saturday provided the ~450 attendees with many sides of Rotary and the good that is being done around the world. There was a focus on mens health, mental fitness, EpiGenetics and Rotary supported programs through RAWCS and Interplast.
In the evening we returned to the Showgrounds to the Paddock to Plate "gala" ball. Definitely a country theme with a sheep shearing demonstration, and a C&W band. About 350 enjoyed the night, with some "dancing" (more like a geriatric physical fitness session). It was good to meet up with old Retractors from Largs Bay, Kinglsey and Mary Dalgleish who are teachers in the Horsham/Nhill district.
Sunday - We heard from a Peace Fellow, and other programs that have been enabled by Rotary district and global grants.Then we learnt where the next Summit will be in 2027.
Our website address which was through a third party has been taken over by an unknown entity. We no longer have access, so you would have seen corrupted links.
Robin has chased this down and we have a new domain name that will be managed through ClubRunner. This new domain name will be slightly different to the old one (no "club of").

The speaker system operates on both battery or power.
Prior to meeting, plug in the charger with the connection point being in front of the speaker box. Once fully charged (blue light), the charger can be removed (or left in place).
NOTE: Ensure that Power is plugged in to the actual Power inlet on the speaker and not the Microphone inlet
Three microphones are all battery operated. There are ‘some’ spare batteries in our lectern. Microphones operate on a simple On/Off and are already paired to the system.
The speaker box has a Master Volume knob as well as a Microphone Volume knob. These should not need adjustment unless circumstances have changed. Test inside meeting room.
At end of meeting please carefully check all items, and put safely back in lectern.
Liaise with the Guest Speaker Coordinator to meet and greet Guest Speaker, arrange for introduction, introduce to other members.
