The West Beach Hub Kitchen has been booked so we do not need to supply any plates cutlery mugs etc.
Our club will be responsible to feed 70 Youth attendees (possibly a further 10 from District Chair and our club will receive $10 per head for the BBQ event.
RCWL will need to start arrangements for planning (Menu etc) which will be discussed at next meeting.

RC Charles Sturt Grange
On Monday 19th February, RC Charles Sturt Grange has a guest speaker attending from the Stroke Foundation.
An invitation has been extended to our club to attend their meeting on that evening. Can you please mark in the folder whether you are interested in attending.
Just letting you know that we sent Samuel off yesterday to Brisbane for the NYSF. With a flight change and then delayed in Melbourne, he has arrived safely and on his STEM adventures today.
I will be in touch when he returns to arrange a time when he can come down to a Rotary meeting to meet and talk about his time.
Thanks again for making this possible for him and I look forward to meeting you all face to face soon.

Our roster at the Carousel over the weekend of 13/14 January coincided with the annual Semaphore Greek Festival.
Given the longer operating hours of 11am through to at least 9:30 pm, we decided to shorten the shifts to make it easier to a more manageable 2 hours.
Thanks to the fourteen (14) members who took on the tasks to enable full coverage to occur.
Saturday was steady, and really picked up in the afternoon, and our shifts finished at just after 11 (23:15)!
Takings of over $2400 for the day suggests a minimum of 400 customers.
Sunday was substantially quieter, but still steady albeit with smaller numbers. Our shifts finished at 22:30, although on both days Frank Schirippa and his family provided coverage post our shift times.
Registration closes Sunday 28 January 2024. Unfortunately no late bookings will be accepted.
Let's celebrate a century of Rotary in South Australia with lunch on the 4th of February 2024 at the William Magarey Room, Adelaide Oval.
This very special lunch will be a celebration of the people of Rotary, Rotaract and Interact that have made up the rich and diverse tapestry of Rotary in South Australia and the current District 9510. Guests will include members past and present from around Australia and the world. Everyone is invited to come and hear about the story of Rotary in South Australia.
The event will be held 100 years to the day from when the first Rotary Club in South Australia, the Rotary Club of Adelaide was officially chartered by Rotary International on 4 February 1924. This was the start of the Rotary movement in South Australia.
Today there are around 2,200 Rotary, Rotaract and Interact members in over 90 Clubs across South Australia and District 9510.

$80.00 includes a 2 course meal, coffee, tea, guest speakers and entertainment. Drinks are at own cost and available from the bar. Adelaide Oval is a cashless venue, so card payments only.
Rotary centenary merchandise will be available for purchase.
Well done to all. We cooked and sold about 450 snags. Half were from our frozen stock in the NRM, and half fresh, just in case we didn't have a big day.
We had good crews throughout the day, with the predictably slow start in terms of customers. The punters started arriving from about 1100, and continued in a steady stream until sold our last at about 1600. This enabled an early pack up.
Again we received kudos from the Bunnings staff for being so well organised and efficient/effective in our cleanup routine.

Let's think about bringing in "partners" to assist and share in the proceeds.
this helps in a number of ways:
- spreads the load, covering members who might be away (for example, Ros & Andrew will be away at Easter)
- spreads the work and activity of RCWL
- increases collaboration with our "partners"
- improves the reach of Rotary, with the possibility of bringing in new members/friends.
In late October a band of members headed out to Edinburgh Donations In Kind/Rotary Australia Repurposing Equipment warehouse in Edinburgh.
As per normal we were allocated various tasks to clean up, sort, prepare goods for repurposing.
A number of items are being aggregated to send off to a health care unit in the southern Philippines. The cost of a container to send in Q1/Q2 2024 will be approaching A$9,000!
As part of the Club's commitment to Rotary International and humanitarian projects, apart from volunteering, from time to time we provide funds to assist the projects being undertaken.
At the Club's Board meeting of 31 October, there was agreement to donate A$5,000 to RARE for the Southern Philippines project.
Thanks to all for the volunteering effort and fundraising to allow this to occur.
The Rotary Club of Somerton Park (RCSP) has organized a monthly coffee get together with our club, members from other clubs from Area 7 and members of the Unley club.
The first was held on Monday 4th December at RCSP Rotary Shed and was well attended by 17 Rotarians from Somerton Park, Unley, McLaren Vale and Holdfast Bay.
Given its success, RCSP will continue the catch up on a regular basis, on the First Monday of the month (note these are our Bunnings BBQ days as well).
Additionally, Somerton Park is a breakfast club. As we don't get much time to socialise, chat and come up with new ideas, this is a good opportunity to do just that over a cup of coffee and biscuits (provided by Somerton Park).
An invitation has been extended to come along to the next one: 10 AM on 5thFebruary 2024 at RC Somerton Park Club rooms, Brighton Oval, Hove SA 5048.
Best route to get here is from Stopford Road, and car park entrance will be on your right. The club shed is on your left.
