Hello from Colorado!

No incoming correspondence via post box
Meals on Wheels now have to collect individual data for Volunteers as part of the Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check. This will require 4 identification documents, plus an application form (hard copy or on-line), with sign-off by a Registered Person!

Midcourse Reserve project - Project Manager has been in touch. Organising a date to meet on site.
We welcomed PDG David Jones as guest speaker. He gave us an inspiring insight into the Rotary Youth Sailing Challenge aboard the iconic One and All.
The program gives 15–18-year-olds the opportunity to step well outside their comfort zones.
Beginning as strangers with no mobile phones, they learn teamwork, responsibility, leadership and resilience while taking part in four-hour watches, climbing the rigging, helming the vessel and working together as a crew. Along the way, they build confidence, overcome challenges and often form lifelong friendships.
Conceived by renowned boat builder and experienced sailor David Binks OAM, the program has seen 17 Rotary voyages since 2018, with countless young people describing it as a life-changing experience.
Thank you, David, for sharing this worthwhile Rotary youth program with our Club.
Last week we were delighted to officially welcome Jo as the newest member of the Rotary Club of West Lakes.
Jo is no stranger to serving others.
She volunteers at St Bede's, where she helps cook for the Thursday takeaway night, volunteers at Port Church on Wednesdays, and also manages the St Bede's Op Shop. She has already rolled up her sleeves and helped at several of our Rotary events, making her a wonderful fit for our Club.
Jo's kind nature, strong work ethic and genuine desire to make a difference embody the Rotary motto of Service Above Self.
We are thrilled to have her join our Rotary family and look forward to serving our community together.

The speaker system operates on both battery or power.
Prior to meeting, plug in the charger with the connection point being in front of the speaker box. Once fully charged (blue light), the charger can be removed (or left in place).
NOTE: Ensure that Power is plugged in to the actual Power inlet on the speaker and not the Microphone inlet
Three microphones are all battery operated. There are ‘some’ spare batteries in our lectern. Microphones operate on a simple On/Off and are already paired to the system.
The speaker box has a Master Volume knob as well as a Microphone Volume knob. These should not need adjustment unless circumstances have changed. Test inside meeting room.
At end of meeting please carefully check all items, and put safely back in lectern.
Liaise with the Guest Speaker Coordinator to meet and greet Guest Speaker, arrange for introduction, introduce to other members.
