Monarto Safari park this weekend
Please finalise numbers and payment (if appropriate)
Meeting at 9am at the Wild Africa entrance, 623 Monarto Road (opposite the house with the blue roof)
Convoy in our own vehicles to the area we are working at (weather permitting - it could be boggy, if so we may have to walk a little ways in)
Our tasks will include planting, watering & weeding
Please bring the following:
Gloves
Good sturdy shoes (covered in)
Water bottles
Hats
Etc.
17C forecast so good weather for digging holes!
Tim & Mike will meet us at the gate, take us to the area in need & then spend a little time discussing what we are to do & a little about the development of the park.
Alison plans to be there by 8:45am – please look out for her hi-viz orange Rotary jacket 😊

Youth (Brian Thomas)
RYDA went ‘pretty well’. 28 volunteers attended with 188 students. BBQ was a great effort.
Andrew said that Ian Miller talked to students participating in RYDA – they said they learnt valuable lessons. Andrew thanked Brian for his efforts with RYDA.

Monarto Safari Park planting – RC Murray Bridge and RC Mobilong offered to assist with the planting and will join RC West Lakes at dinner.

Guest Speaker: Ian Hopley
Ian, a former long serving police officer with Victoria Police, is involved with non-profit organisation The Headstone Project SA Australia. The Project’s aim is to locate and identify graves of WW1 veterans who’s graves are mostly unmarked. When found, military headstones are erected. Ian described the process involved. The Project was founded in 2011 and since then some 700 graves have been located. A very important project to honour our veterans.
A number of members attended the funeral. If anyone wants to make a donation in memory of Errol, his family’s preference is for donations to go to the Wheelies.
