The Rotary Club of West Lakes, under the experienced and respected leadership of President Jean Mailey, continues its commitment to creating meaningful and lasting change within our local community and beyond. Beginning a third term as President, Jean is held in very high regard by Club members for her dedication, wisdom and unwavering passion for service above self.

Building on the strong foundations established by those who have come before her, Jean's vision is to strengthen our Club's operations, embrace changing times, foster deeper connections with other Rotary clubs and create an even greater impact when people unite and take action. She believes that by working together, we can continue to bring Rotary's values and themes to life while ensuring that the fun, friendship and sense of belonging that define our Club remain at the heart of everything we do.

Community Projects

Our members are regularly involved in Community projects such as WatchHouse Wardrobe, Blanket Revolution, Tennyson Dunes Open Days and the Frederick Miller Community Gardens

Youth Programs

We support International Youth Exchange, RYDA Driving Awareness, the National Youth Science Forum, RYLA Leadership Awards and provide scholarship awards for local primary school students

Volunteer projects

We work with organisations that help the community: Meals on Wheels and RARE (Rotary Australia Repurposing Equipment)

Latest News: Celebrating 50 years of Service

On the 8th March we celebrated 50 wonderful years of the Rotary Club of West Lakes which was chartered in March 1976.

It was a special afternoon filled with memories, laughter and connection as past and present members and friends came together to reflect on the many highlights of our club over the decades. Old friends reunited, stories were shared and we were delighted to have two of our founding members present to celebrate this milestone with us. We heard a few words from District Governor Rajeev Kamineni, along with representatives from the Mayoral Office and the Semaphore Surf Life Saving Club, all wishing the club continued success in serving our community. Guests enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea and birthday cake, while browsing through displays of club memorabilia that showcased the history and spirit of Rotary at West Lakes. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this incredible milestone. Here’s to the friendships, service and community spirit that have shaped the past 50 years…and many more to come.
