Last meeting our members were inspired by an update from PDG M-L Lees on the incredible New Dawn Ukraine Project.
This RAWCS partnership, involving seven Rotary clubs including the eClub of Ukraine (Rotary District 2232), is working alongside local communities to provide practical support where it is needed most.
To date, since February 2023, more than $340,000 worth of projects have been successfully delivered, including:
• Modular medical centres
• School projects, including the Sofievka School bomb shelter, where Rotary funded construction materials and 100 student desks
• Community centre upgrades
• Hospital window replacements
• Mental health facilities
• Furnishing accommodation in an Odesa village for internally displaced families
One of the most impressive aspects of the project is that every undertaking has been delivered on budget, ensuring that every donated dollar makes the greatest possible impact.
Thank you, M-L, for sharing how Rotary's international partnerships continue to bring hope, resilience and practical assistance to the people of Ukraine. Together, we really are making a difference.
