Dear Rotarians,
As the calendar year draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the past six months of my tenure as your President. I look back with great pride and joy at what we have achieved together in service to our community, both locally and abroad. It is truly an honour to be part of such a wonderful group of members, and my sincere thanks and appreciation go to all who have so selflessly contributed their time and effort to “making a difference” in whatever way we can.
Last week’s meeting was particularly special. Sitting around the table and sharing glimpses into our personal lives was both a revelation and deeply heartwarming. For me, it was a wonderful opportunity to get to know one another a little more closely and to reaffirm the strong bond of friendship that lies at the heart of Rotary. Thank you to everyone who shared so openly.
As we approach the festive season, I would like to wish you all a happy, healthy, and above all, a safe Christmas and New Year. I look forward to catching up with you at the upcoming BBQ, and at our first meeting back on Tuesday 14 January for breakfast at Wolf on Watton.
On a sadder note, I have attached a message from Neville Parsons, Interim Chair of the Regional Council, regarding the Bondi Beach tragedy. This message reaffirms our ongoing commitment to peace and reminds us of the values that unite us as Rotarians.
Thank you once again for your friendship, service, and support throughout the year.
Warm regards,
President Peter Nichols
