Members' News this week:
Andrew and Ros arrived safely in Milan, where they enjoyed catching up with Samuele and his family. They noted a few changes in Sam - he’s lost weight, grown his hair and is now sporting earrings! From Italy, they travelled on to Casablanca and have now begun their Moroccan adventure. Along the way to Chefchaouen, they explored some Roman ruins and are currently en route to Fes.

We wish Gary well as he will be having medical treatment on Wednesday

TREASURER REPORT- Steve
A steady day at the NRM on Sunday. Gross sales - $823 with around 700 through the NRM gates.
Have made donations to Foodbank, Oz Harvest, Pioneer Adventure Day, RARE and RFDS.
Foodbank feedback – Thank you for choosing to make a donation to support South Aussies and Territorians in need. Every dollar donated provides 2 meals to individuals and families in need in our community.
OzHarvest feedback– Thank you for your incredible generosity and helping OzHarvest “Nourish our Country” – every dollar donated delivers 2 meals to people in need.
RFDS feedback – Your support means a lot to us. Everyday, over 150 patients from South Australia and the Northern Territory call on emergency aeromedical and essential primary health care services – that is 1 in every 10 minutes!! Your support helps us to save and change lives, by being there 24/7 for all those that live, work & travel in rural and remote Australia.
Waiting on account details from Calperum, and will pay Ronald McDonald House when another sponsor will match dollar for dollar.
Will re-vote on making a donation to the CFS Foundation, as the CFS itself, does not accept donations. The purpose of the Foundation is to provide immediate financial support to CFS volunteers and their families in the event of death, injury, or loss of property while engaging in their community service.
Will be writing a “Lessons Learned” on the 'Playground to the Philippines' project – working to get information from Barbara’s computer which will not turn on!!
COMMUNITY & FUNDRAISING- Sue (Ros away 12 April - 13 May)
Bub's birthday @ NRM on Sunday 19 April - Thank you to Steve, Gary, Jean, Yvonne, Sue and Tracey for volunteering their time to support Bub’s birthday celebration. Your help made the day run smoothly and ensured a successful event. A special thank you to Steve for taking charge of the set-up, pack-down and transporting all the supplies to and from the Samoa shed.
Carousel Duties - Saturday 25 & Sunday 26 April. The LDS volunteers will help us with the Saturday shifts but we will need a club member to induct these volunteers. Club volunteers are required for Sunday's shifts please.
Next Carousel duties - weekend of Sat 2 & Sun 3 May. Thereafter, moving to a 5 weekly rotation.

Members are encouraged to attend the Club Leaders Learning Seminar (previously known as District Assembly). If you are a new member or have not attended an assembly in the past 5 years you may find it an enlightening experience. It is also an opportunity to ask questions and have an input as to how Rotary operates. See Stories page for official invite.
Members are encouraged to visit our FaceBook and Website at least once per week as this helps ‘keep a finger on the pulse’ of our Club.

EOI submitted on 1 April for $1,125 to purchase an electric jockey wheel for BBQ trailer to hopefully remove EHS challenges. We may need to purchase an interim jockey wheel as current one is compromised.

Last week's International Toast - Peter
The Rotary Club of Sapporo is part of Rotary International District 2510. It operates as a service organisation bringing together business and professional leaders in Sapporo, the largest city in Hokkaido, Japan, to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards and advance goodwill. Chartered in 1933, it has 116 members and meets Wednesdays at 12.30pm at Sapporo Prince Hotel International. The President is Yukinori Takebe.
Alison has arrived safely in Cambodia and is thoroughly enjoying her time with the tour group. She joined in the vibrant Khmer New Year celebrations in Phnom Penh, complete with water pistols of all sizes and plenty of talcum powder, which she described as great fun.
The group have also caught up with Cosi Costello during their visit. Highlights of the trip so far include watching the sunrise at Angkor Wat, experiencing a traditional monk blessing ceremony and participating in a meaningful act of generosity. The group contributed to the purchase of a motorbike for a local woman who has just moved into a new home. This is an important step that will help her get to the market and take her children to school.

A fun day for isolated farming and rural families doing it tough to:
• remember what it’s like to smile again • enjoy attractions, displays, entertainment, music, food, haircuts AND health checks
• break isolation and improve mental health as Rotary reconnects communities
• receive free dignity packs; groceries and random gifts of kindness
We are still building up our Sponsorships for individual families to attend with so many thanks to so many Rotary Clubs already for helping. Fuel cost assistance is a big one for us right now.

The speaker system operates on both battery or power.
Prior to meeting, plug in the charger with the connection point being in front of the speaker box. Once fully charged (blue light), the charger can be removed (or left in place).
NOTE: Ensure that Power is plugged in to the actual Power inlet on the speaker and not the Microphone inlet
Three microphones are all battery operated. There are ‘some’ spare batteries in our lectern. Microphones operate on a simple On/Off and are already paired to the system.
The speaker box has a Master Volume knob as well as a Microphone Volume knob. These should not need adjustment unless circumstances have changed. Test inside meeting room.
At end of meeting please carefully check all items, and put safely back in lectern.
Liaise with the Guest Speaker Coordinator to meet and greet Guest Speaker, arrange for introduction, introduce to other members.
